Originally released in 2003, the Blue Curacao Big Shot Acrylic Rollerball Pen was rediscovered at the factory and placed into the Retro51 Vault, offering enthusiasts a chance to own a piece of Retro51 history. Although the years have passed since the barrels were made, they have gone through quality control checks and are newly assembled with polished chrome accents.
Streaks of blue, black and pearlescent ivory streak up and down the barrel to create a dynamic appearance. Each barrel is unique with its acrylic blend on the thicker Big Shot that provides for an increased grip section. Retro 51 has a long history of creating unique and fun pens. Their new ownership has changed focus it seems however this pen is from the vault which is from years ago and it was fun to add this one to my collection of over 400 pens as it was highly sought after when it was originally released. The price on these pens is set by Retro 51 and it’s quite crazy for them to think that a $40 pen is worth $125 however they got their money out of me as a collector.
